Art in Mixed Media Description

This class is designed for students in grades 7-12. If your student wants to experience a variety of art mediums, both two-dimensional (ex: drawing, painting, printmaking, etc.) and three-dimensional work (ex: sculpture, pottery, weaving, etc.), then this class is for them. Though the focus of this class is to encourage students to explore the God-given gift of creativity which flows as we image Him, an understanding and application of the elements of art and principles of design and an understanding of composition will also be integral. It will build on previous learning and stretch artistic growth. This class for the artist who enjoys the sculptural qualities of art and creating on a flat surface can be repeated year after year, with the expectation that each year will bring deeper growth and confidence in art-making.
