Patricia Sorey is a native Spanish speaker born in Alicante, Spain. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from Old Dominion University and is now transitioning from a 30-year career in healthcare, educating and caring for her patients, to Spanish-language instruction. She has joyfully shared her knowledge and experiences tutoring Spanish to high school and college students, as well as classes through Chesapeake Parks and Recreation. Mrs. Sorey earned the Praxis World Language certification in Spanish in 2020 and is committed to creating a positive, faith-centered classroom environment that promotes cultural appreciation and language fluency. Her goal is to help students see Spanish not simply as a subject, but as a way to connect with others, serve God, and share His love. She also strives to incorporate each student’s unique, God-given talents, such as music, art, and creativity, into the learning experience. In addition to teaching Spanish and homeschooling her children, Patricia enjoys reading a good book, traveling, and relaxing in the Outer Banks with her husband, three children, and their sweet Golden Retriever.
