A native of New Orleans, Louisiana, Steve earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from Loyola University New Orleans. While at Loyola, Steve spent a semester in Rome learning Roman History. Steve moved to Virginia in 1991, where he attended Old Dominion University and received a Master of Science in Education. Steve taught in the public schools for 26 years and is now retired. His wife homeschools his younger two children, and they are happy to be “KEYS parents” as well. Active in youth ministry and his church, Steve is passionate about helping all students succeed.
