Cindy graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in Music Education. While at USC, she gained valuable experience teaching string classes and private students and directing orchestras in the USC String Project under Robert Jesselson and Pamela Tellejohn-Hayes (co-author of Essential Elements). Cindy taught music (K-12)and directed choirs at Okinawa Christian School International, performed in the Okinawa Symphony Orchestra, and taught private violin lessons. At the same time, her husband served in the US Air Force. Upon returning to the United States, Cindy taught beginning strings in Norfolk Public Schools until the birth of her two girls, after which she homeschooled them through graduation. She has been a guest conductor for All-City events in Virginia Beach and Newport News and an adjudicator for regional orchestra festivals. Cindy currently has a large private violin/viola studio and is Assistant Concertmaster of Symphonicity.
