US History

Description
This course will be a comprehensive survey of United States History, intended to give the high school student a solid foundation of knowledge about the heritage of America. The primary purpose of any Christian course of study is to produce a student who is conformed to Christ’s image. There may be no more valuable study than the lives of others in the light of Scripture. Throughout the course of history are many examples of people who either followed God’s standard or failed to do so. From these examples, the student will see the truth of God in action and develop values and principles for living.

Virginia History

Virginia History

Description
This course will be an in-depth study of the fascinating history of the State of Virginia. Since Virginia has been an integral part of the history of the United States from its very foundation, this course will be rich in the early American History. We will trace the development of the state from even before the first successful English settlement to the modern day prestige which Virginia enjoys among the rest of the nation. In addition, we will discuss the geography of Virginia and the impact this had on the history of our state. As a bonus we will discuss to a much lesser degree, the other 49 states in the Union and how their development compared to Virginia’s rich heritage. The result of this course of study will give the student a great respect for the proud history of our state and a sense of perspective of our nation as a whole.

Worldview Analysis A

Worldview Analysis A

Description
Jesus Christ claims to be Lord of all. Consequently, it is not enough to send them out prepared for the challenges of college or vocational training. We must also help them develop the conviction that Christianity is true; that Christ is not interested in having a place in our lives but demands and deserves to be Lord of the full circumference of them; and that His priorities and His values should govern how we use our time, knowledge, and energy. Our class is designed to equip them to see all things through eyes of Christ and serve, work, and flourish as His followers in a culture that urgently needs to hear the Gospel persuasively presented and lived-out faithfully.
