Advanced Band Description

Advanced Band is for students who have two years of Band or at least two years of private lessons on their instrument with the instructor's approval. Instruction will focus on proper technique, advanced musicality, good rehearsal habits, and expanding students' level of musicianship through listening skills, sight reading, the introduction of minor key signatures, music history, and music theory. Jazz music theory will be introduced as well. This ensemble performs for KEYS Winter and Spring Concerts as well as events outside of KEYS throughout the year.
