Intermediate Band Description

Intermediate Band is for students who have completed Beginning Band or at least two years of private lessons on their instrument. Instruction will focus on proper technique, advanced musicality, good rehearsal habits, and expanding students' level of musicianship through listening skills, sight reading, the introduction of minor key signatures, and music history. This course is designed for students in middle school and high school. This ensemble performs for KEYS Winter and Spring Concerts as well as events outside of KEYS throughout the year.

1" 3-ring binder
Metronome/tuner for at-home practice
Instrument-specific supplies


Successful completion of Beginning Band or at least two years of private instruction with the approval of the instructor.

Class Information

Parents are responsible for purchasing all textbooks and supplies before the first day of class.

KEYS will invoice supply fees at the time of registration and class selection. This fee covers materials, lab supplies, and other expenses incurred by the teacher. It is a one-time fee, transferable until August, but non-refundable.

Please note the grade level for this class. Students younger than the recommended grade levels need special permission before signing up for the class. Please contact the office for more information.
