This is a group ensemble course for students interested in percussion. This group will perform independently as well as with the Beginning Band class. No experience playing percussion is required. Students will learn basic to intermediate percussion techniques on various percussion instruments and perform in the KEYS Winter and Spring Concerts. Students do not need to own their own instruments but will be expected to have their own drum sticks and a practice pad. This course is designed for middle school, high school, or *5th-grade students with teacher permission. Instruments provided: concert snare drums, bass drum, cymbals, vibraphone, marimbas, glockenspiels, marching drum line drums, timpani, and other auxiliary percussion. *Students in grade 5 will only be allowed to participate with instructor approval after older students have registered and should call the office to be placed on a waiting list.
