A cappella Ensemble is an audition-only, advanced choral group for grades 9-12. *Please contact the KEYS office to schedule an audition. This choir will work on upper-level non-accompanied music. The level of musicianship is high. We will have fun, but we will work HARD. Students will participate in all concerts and outreaches and will have the opportunity to audition for VMEA events, including District Chorus and All Virginia Choir. Students in this ensemble are REQUIRED to participate in the MOST trip. Expectations: at least 90 minutes of out-of-class practice on music, Sight Reading Factory, and 2-page theory assignments per week. This is the most advanced choral group at KEYS, and a high level of commitment is expected. As with all the KEYS choirs, music is practiced at home, but with this group, it should be at the highest level of readiness to rehearse. There will also be opportunities to sing in the community during the year, and they are MANDATORY to attend. I strive to give four to six weeks' notice for outreach opportunities.

Parents are responsible for purchasing all textbooks and supplies before the first day of class.
Supply fees are due to each teacher on the first day of class. This fee covers materials, lab supplies, and other expenses incurred by the teacher. They are a one-time fee.
Please note the grade level for this class. Students younger than the recommended grade levels need special permission before signing up for the class. Please contact the office for more information.
