Advanced Percussion Description

This is a group ensemble course for students who have been playing a minimum of 2-3 years and can demonstrate mastery of the basic skills of percussion and music reading. This group will perform independently as well as with the Concert Band class. Please contact the instructor if you have questions about whether you qualify. Students will learn advanced percussion techniques on various percussion instruments. Students do not need to own their own instruments but will be expected to have their own drum sticks and a practice pad. Instruments provided: concert snare drums, bass drum, cymbals, vibraphone, marimbas, glockenspiels, marching drum line drums, timpani, and other auxiliary percussion.
