Beginning Percussion Description

This is a group ensemble course for students interested in percussion. This group will perform independently as well as with the Beginning Band class. No experience playing percussion is required. Students will learn basic to intermediate percussion techniques on various percussion instruments. Students do not need to own their own instruments but will be expected to have their own drum sticks and a practice pad. This course is designed for middle school, high school, or 5th-grade students with teacher permission. Instruments provided: concert snare drums, bass drum, cymbals, vibraphone, marimbas, glockenspiels, marching drum line drums, timpani, and other auxiliary percussion.

Class Information

Parents are responsible for purchasing all textbooks and supplies before the first day of class.

Supply fees are due to each teacher on the first day of class. This fee covers materials, lab supplies, and other expenses incurred by the teacher. They are a one-time fee.

Please note the grade level for this class. Students younger than the recommended grade levels need special permission before signing up for the class. Please contact the office for more information.
