This is a class designed for students who have been playing a minimum of 2-3 years and can demonstrate mastery of the basic skills of proper position and music reading, and play confidently in the keys of D, G, C, F and B-flat Major as well as d and g minor. This ensemble will challenge students to develop good rehearsal habits and discipline, as well as expose them to a variety of music that will develop sight reading, ensemble, and performance skills. This is the perfect class for the student that has been taking private lessons for a few years and would like to supplement them with the excitement of playing in an ensemble and sharing music with others. Private lessons are strongly encouraged at this level, especially if students desire to move up to the chamber level in the future.
Essential Technique for Strings (Book 3), a folding music stand to bring to KEYS, 1" black 3-ring binder with dividers and pockets, and a metronome/tuner for practice at home. (Violins and violas are required to use a shoulder rest.) Students will begin using the Advanced Technique method book in the 2nd semester.

Parents are responsible for purchasing all textbooks and supplies before the first day of class.
Supply fees are due to each teacher on the first day of class. This fee covers materials, lab supplies, and other expenses incurred by the teacher. They are a one-time fee.
