Geometry B Description

This high school geometry course moves students from the basic principles of geometry through more advanced topics. Topics include logic and proof, parallel lines and polygons, perimeter and area analysis, volume and surface area analysis, similarity and congruence, trigonometry, and analytic geometry. Students will conduct an in-depth analysis of plane, solid and coordinate geometry as they relate to abstract mathematical concepts and real-world problem situations. The emphasis of this course will be placed on developing critical thinking skills as they relate to logical reasoning and argument. Students learn through textbooks, videos, practice, investigations, and online interactives. Students will also use an online graphing calculator and complete quizzes and tests for each unit, a midterm, and a final exam.
