High School Worldview Analysis B Description

The HS Worldview Analysis class is a comprehensive overview of the dominant worldviews influencing Western Civilization, an examination of the inevitable conflicts that arise when those worldviews meet in the arena of ideas, and an analysis of the natural and predictable impact of each worldview upon the individual and society. In more simple terms, a worldview is like a map, like GPS. It helps us know where we are, reveals how we got here, explains where we need to go, and proffers the best route to get there. Importantly, a worldview does not merely reflect what we think the world is like; it directs what we think the world should be like. In other words, it not only describes reality but also prescribes how we ought to act and respond to reality. In direct terms, ideas acted upon have very real consequences. Therefore, the ideas we embrace lay the groundwork for the consequences that follow. Both good and bad. Worldview Analysis, therefore, is designed to strengthen a student’s Christian worldview while inoculating them against false worldviews vying for their hearts and minds. Romans 12:2 says we are not to “be conformed to this world, but [we are] to be transformed by the renewal of [our] mind(s), that by testing [worldviews, we] may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”
