Middle School Math Description

This course is designed to ensure students develop a solid foundation in Mathematic concepts needed for high-school-level Mathematics and Science coursework. Emphasis will be placed on mastery of math facts, arithmetic operations with fractions, decimals, percents, and proper mathematical notation and structure. Operations with integers and solving simple equations will be introduced. Successful completion with a passing grade is required before advancing to Pre-Algebra.

Students will need the following supplies: One 3-ring binder 1.5 " (binders should have a pocket in front) with 3 dividers.

Prerequisites

Proficiency with multiplication tables, long multiplication and long division demonstrated by adequate completion of the KEYS math evaluation.

Class Information

Parents are responsible for purchasing all textbooks and supplies before the first day of class.

Supply fees are due to each teacher on the first day of class. This fee covers materials, lab supplies, and other expenses incurred by the teacher. They are a one-time fee.

Please note the grade level for this class. Students younger than the recommended grade levels need special permission before signing up for the class. Please contact the office for more information.
